Valuing Diversity
We are very proud to serve a rich and diverse community, and we are committed to valuing and promoting equality and diversity across the academy.
At our Academy we celebrate our similarities as well as our differences and all children, staff and families ensure that our approach is lived out.
Our curriculum across the year focuses on identity and celebrates the diverse history of our global community. We understand that all children absolutely need to understand who they are, where they come from and to be proud of their heritage.
We thoughtfully select the books we share with pupils to ensure they reflect a wide range of cultures, backgrounds and experiences. Throughout the year, we welcome a variety of visitors who enrich our curriculum by representing diverse perspectives and communities. In addition, our PSHE lessons and school assemblies regularly explore themes of diversity, equality and inclusion; helping our children develop understanding, respect and appreciation for everyone.
We will be working together with our partner academies in the Authentic Education Trust to ensure that our collective commitment to ensuring our curriculum is relevant to all students is fulfilled, reviewed and revisited as an ongoing commitment.Our equality policy and objectives can be found in the documents section of this website.
